Scoliosis

ScolioseScoliosis is a deviation of the spine in the three dimensions of space. It is characterised by the abnormal curbing towards up or low, left or right, front or back. Often curbing in several plans is present. Scoliosis can appear in childhood as congenital, or idiopathic. But it can also be secondary, as a consequence of another contition, usually a neuromuscular or osseous one. But it is a condition that can also appear in adulthood : we then speak of ‘de novo’ scoliosis.

Scoliosis often requires a medical and surgical treatment, with medical follow up throughout life.
